Santa wows Christmas party

Free bingo upstaged by Santa
Free bingo was not the only draw at a recent Christmas party in West Yorkshire.
Santa was on hand to support the Woodkirk High School annual senior citizens Christmas party last month, reports the Morley Advertiser.
More than 100 elderly people from local care homes and clubs came along to the function, which was organised by students at the Tingley school.
In fact, no fewer than 75 students helped out by organising the entertainment, serving food and cleaning up after the event.
Meanwhile, Santa joined the fun by pulling crackers and sharing jokes with some of the partygoers although sadly he didn't have time to call any free bingo games.
Raffles, dancing and free bingo
On top of the free bingo, guests were also treated to a prize raffle, dancing and music from the school orchestra.
A school spokeswoman said that the event had been a resounding success.
"Everybody really enjoyed it," she said. "It was just one of those times when things just worked out perfectly."
Bingo is a festive tradition
For many people, bingo has long been recognised as an essential part of the festive period.
Last month, for example, a Pembrokeshire lady called Sian Cole made the most of the season of goodwill by running a trio of bingo fundraisers.
All three bingo games were hosted by Carew Memorial Hall in the picturesque seaside town of Tenby.
Morriston Hospital and Sageston CP School were chosen to benefit from the first two sessions.
And for the third and final bingo game, the money was split between the Lewy Body Dementia Association and a day centre in South Pembrokeshire Hospital.
