Hucknall lady amazed by bingo jackpot

Happy new year for bingo lover
A Nottinghamshire free bingo lover is looking forward to a very happy 2010 indeed after winning an enormous bingo jackpot.
The Hucknall nurse, who wishes to remain unnamed, picked up a staggering £62,500 at a bingo club on Friday, January 8th 2010, reports the Hucknall Dispatch.
Scooping the jackpot was an incredible stroke of good fortune because it means the 39-year-old can now afford to attend a family wedding in Las Vegas later this year.
Who knows, she might even be tempted to have a flutter on the BOGOF bingo machines in the gaming capital of the world.
Loyalty pays off for bingo regular
After 15 years of playing free bingo with her friends, the huge payout clearly took her completely by surprise.
"This has made my new year," she said. "It still hasn't sunk in. I have had small wins before but never imagined that I would be a big winner. To take home the jackpot is incredible."
However, the lucky nurse was not the only person celebrating.
That's because the Nottinghamshire club matched her bingo jackpot and split it evenly between every other player in the room.
As a result, 88 free bingo fans each walked away with £710.22 burning a hole in their back pockets.
Hucknall is a real hotbed for free bingo games. Last year, the Bryon Bingo Hall in Hucknall featured in the critically-acclaimed Channel 4 documentary The Scandalous Adventures of Lord Bryon.
Actor Rupert Everett even ventured inside to ask players for their take on the iconic Romantic poet, who is buried in Hucknall parish church (pictured).
