Nellie Horseman, from Eastfield near Scarborough (pictured), has been attending bingo sessions for over 30 years, so it was natural that a few free bingo games formed part of her birthday celebrations.
Partying at the drop-in session she set up more than three decades ago, Mrs Horseman was joined by children from local schools who presented her with cards they had made, while a nearby supermarket donated a bouquet of flowers. Afterwards, revellers enjoyed free bingo games in honour of Mrs Horseman's favourite pastime.
She has now been dubbed 'Eastfield's celebrity', on account of everyone knowing who she is. After the free bingo games had finished she told the local newspaper: "It is nice to have all my friends with me and I hope I will be able to celebrate my 103rd birthday.
