Council teams with bingo hall for foster care

Foster care plans for council and bingo hall

Bingo hall to raise foster care awareness

Bingo has long been known for its ability to bring together people from all walks of life, and that's exactly what one local council in Lancashire is trying to do as part of its new initiative.

Free bingo lovers visiting the BOGOF site are younger than they have been in years, and such enthusiasm for the game is spreading to its offline interpretation. This ties in perfectly with plans from Blackburn with Darwen Council to get more young adults to consider taking on foster children, and the body is now targeting bingo halls in the area.

On December 17th, during the afternoon gaming session, an information stand will provide advice for those interested in fostering. What's more, the bingo caller will actually be reading out key information about the practice.

A spokesperson for the event underlined the community aspect of playing bingo, claiming halls can "give something back to the community in which we stand".

Bingo a huge hit with everyone

It isn't just our fabulous BOGOF players who enjoy a game of bingo; the popular game is played in the most unlikely of places.

Last month, we speculated that bingo could even be played at next year's royal wedding. Dabbing the numbers is a great way to relieve stress, so we think a few games could be the perfect way for William and Kate to ease their wedding day jitters!
