Bingo clubs to receive smoking dispensation?

Smoking may be allowed in bingo halls

Smoking ban may be reviewed

It's been just over three years since the Labour government implemented the health bill and the smoking ban, resulting in smoking becoming illegal in enclosed public places.

Free bingo fans will have no doubt been directly or indirectly affected by the ban, as it obviously applies to clubs around the UK. Indeed, around 130 clubs - a fifth of the UK's total - are said to have been closed over the last three years.

With this in mind, Brian Binley from the All Party Parliamentary Save the Pub Group has called on the government to honour Patricia Hewitt's original promise to "have a full review at the end of three years". He said:

The way Parliament handled the situation for pubs and clubs was draconian, crude and crass. You only have to look at these shanty town lean-tos in rural areas to know there is sizable damage being done to pubs. It's just crazy and a rather crude answer to the problem."

Beating the ban

Of course, players who enjoy lighting up while playing a game of bingo can always find solace in a game of free bingo on the internet.

The technology driving online bingo has now become so advanced that BOGOF has an online community, allowing players to meet each other and interact via chat rooms and competitions.

So, if you fancy beating the ban today why not sign up for some free bingo games and get playing from the comfort of your own home?
