Jai shocks Britain to claim Talent top prize
We're sure BOGOF Bingo players were just as shocked as we were when Jai McDowall picked up the top prize in Saturday's Britain's Got Talent final.
Show head honcho Simon Cowell had told audiences to expect a big surprise during the programme, but even seasoned BOGOF fans used to all manner of random shocks could not have expected the Scottish singer to topple 12-year-old Ronan Parke.
After the show, Cowell suggested that it was McDowall's performance that allowed him to surge ahead in the public vote and take the crown. He commented: "We said tonight there would be a shock result. Not doing a disservice to him, he wasn't the favourite but he nailed the song. The public trust their decisions and he is a worthy winner."
