Hucknall lady amazed by bingo jackpot

A Nottinghamshire free bingo fan has spoken about the "incredible" experience of winning a huge bingo jackpot. The 39-year-old woman, who works as a nurse in the county, already has plans for the £62,500. It will pay for a trip to Las Vegas for a family wedding and give her plenty of spending money into the bargain. The lucky winner hails from the town of Hucknall, which is a real bingo hotbed. Last year, Hucknall bingo players featured in a hit Channel 4 documentary.

Gary Barlow wanted his wedding anniversary to be a little bit special. So he hit upon the idea of throwing a free bingo party for all his showbiz friends in a swish London hotel. Everybody goes on winning streaks from time to time, but nothing quite like this. Brian Parker, a Huddersfield man dubbed 'Bingo Brian', won an incredible 129 bingo games in 2009. And he estimates that his total winnings could be as high as £4,000. Mind you, he does play bingo around six times a week. Strangely enough, his wife Madge never joins in but Bingo Brian still insists on splitting every prize right down the middle.
