A change in the current national smoking ban may make it legal for people to smoke in bingo clubs. There has been an increase in the amount of bingo club closures since the ban was introduced in 2007. Indeed, 130 bingo clubs have reportedly closed their doors during this time. This comes in addition to the 2,365 pubs which ceased trading in the UK last year. A full review could come with the arrival of a new government.

The latest in a long line of organisations to realise this is the Smalley, Mapperley and Shipley safer neighbourhood policing team. They staged a community event in Ilkeston to encourage interaction with the Derbyshire constabulary and Amber Valley Housing. A Christmas party was livened up when a certain Father Christmas made a brief appearance.
